Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a structural welder capable of certifying on single-process plates and performing SMAW or GMAW welding. The role involves laying out, aligning, and welding fabricated components to assemble industrial structures per blueprints.

You will work with pipe, plate, and structural shapes, operating in a supervisory environment with emphasis on accuracy and safety. This on-site Texas position offers competitive benefits and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in the field.
• Work under supervision with guidance from supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Select type and size of pipe or related materials per specifications.
• Plan layouts and welding; apply geometry and metal properties knowledge.
• May use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, GTA, SAW, or SMA welding processes.
• Lay out, position, align and fit components for assembly.
• Weld components using arc welding methods in various positions.
• Connects cables and sets parameters per procedure or supervisor.
• Inspect welds for bead size and quality.
• Handle and transport materials and tools as needed.
• Perform maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
