Job summary

Quadrant, Inc. in Winchester, VA is seeking a Soldering Technician to perform precision hand-soldering, inspection, and rework of PCBs, wire harnesses, and small electro-mechanical components for drone production.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of hand-soldering experience with fine-pitch components (0402), read drawings, and follow IPC quality standards. English proficiency required; healthcare benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; electronics assembly training preferred.
• 3+ years of hand-soldering experience, including fine-pitch components (0402) in production or engineering.
• Able to work under magnification and adhere to IPC/quality standards.
• Able to read work instructions, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Familiar with ESD procedures, lab equipment, and basic hand tools.
• Experience mentoring junior technicians and documenting changes to work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, organized, self-motivated, and communicative with management and coworkers.
• Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Perform precision hand-soldering, inspection, and rework of PCBs, wire harnesses, and small electro-mechanical components under magnification.
• Solder through-hole, SMT, and fine-pitch components on PCBA and small assemblies.
• Assemble, repair, and modify wire harnesses per drawings and work instructions.
• Inspect solder joints under a microscope; repair non-conformances to IPC standards.
• Read engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and provide feedback to Engineering on documents.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment and tools; report issues promptly.
• Complete travelers, inspection records, and non-conformance documentation per QMS.
• Maintain a clean, ESD-safe workstation and follow FOD prevention; restock supplies as needed.
• Support first article inspections and process improvement with Engineering and QC.
• Cross-train and perform other assembly tasks when soldering is not required.
