Job summary

Harbor Steel is seeking a dependable Receiving / Inventory Control Specialist for its Prichard, WV facility. This position oversees inspecting incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring physical stock matches system data.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and proficient with computers and measuring tools. Experience in warehouse or metals industries is a plus.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping are essential.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter inventory data accurately.
• Ability to read and follow purchase orders, bills of lading, and material documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials for quality, quantity, and condition.
• Match bills of lading with purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
• Apply color codes and inventory tags to materials.
• Enter receiving and inventory data into Metalware system.
• Identify and report damaged or non-conforming materials.
• Link material certifications to inventory tags.
• Communicate with mills regarding delivery schedules via email.
• Submit receiving paperwork to Accounting.
