Job summary

North Shore Steel seeks a Receiving Clerk to accurately receive, inspect, and process incoming steel materials. You will ensure correct identification, inventory accuracy, and traceability while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, inspecting for discrepancies, recording receipts, coordinating verifications, and maintaining documentation and organized storage. Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Accurately measure, inspect, count, identify and verify steel materials.
• Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, receiving documents, material tags and MTRs.
• Basic understanding of warehouse receiving, inventory control and material traceability practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office; Wintrix experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming steel materials against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Inspect materials for damage, shortages, overages, or discrepancies and report issues.
• Measure, count, identify, tag and stage materials with proper traceability.
• Complete receiving documentation and coordinate verification of dimensions and quantities.
• Record material receipts and inventory transactions in Wintrix and other systems.
• Ensure materials are properly identified, segregated, and stored to prevent damage or misidentification.
• Maintain accurate inventory and quality records, including MTRs and nonconformance docs.
• Communicate with supervisors to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized work area and follow safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
