Performs the set up and prove‑in of complex precision production hardware and potential pre‑production engineering hardware within the UPMF (Ultra Precision Machine Fabrication). Produces products out of materials ranging from standard to exotic utilizing all types of CNC (computer numerically controlled) and conventional machines. Determines the functional adequacy and efficiency of machines and tooling to fabricate parts to defined specifications. Troubleshoots programs, tooling, and machines. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and the applicable use of SIE (Standard Inspection Equipment) to maintain integrity of conformance to part tolerances during fabrication. Provides necessary shop floor assistance to the Production Machine Operators in maintaining machine operational efficiencies.
