Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines to produce complex precision parts. The role requires reading blueprints and following work orders, with attention to tool wear, offsets, and quality control using inspection equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years of recent CNC and conventional machining experience, and the ability to work any shift including overnight. ATF clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Reads and follows verbal and written instructions such as work orders and blueprints.
• Operates CNC and conventional machines to produce precision parts.
• Uses inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify tolerances.
• Performs tool wear evaluation and changes to milling/ drilling tools.
• Can make minor CNC program edits (tool stations, spindle direction).
• Possesses flexibility to work any shift, including overnight.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates conventional and CNC machines to produce precision parts from various materials.
• Keeps setups within tolerance using knowledge of tools, geometry, feeds, speeds, and blueprints.
• Uses Standard Inspection Equipment to assure quality during machining operations.
• Removes burrs and sharp edges on metallic and nonmetallic parts.
• Maintains surface finishes and tolerances per blueprint/planning requirements.
