Job summary

Polaris Pharmacy Services is seeking a Pharmacy Fill Technician to accurately prepare prescriptions, including picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation for pharmacist verification.

The role supports a well-organized workspace, adherence to regulations, and timely workload processing with occasional overtime. Experience in long-term care settings is a plus, with licenses/certifications required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred (long-term care preferred).

Responsibilities

• Pull/pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas (pre-pack racks).
• Accuracy check of final preparation before presenting to the pharmacist.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently and in a timely and prioritized manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure.
• Assist in pre-packing frequently ordered medications; label and stock as needed during low-volume times.
• Package materials and products manually.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Maintain clean/organized workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed each shift.
• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected.
