Job summary

Samtec, Inc. in Erie, PA, seeks a Toolmaker to build, repair, and provide preventive maintenance on precision molds and extrusion dies. You will collaborate with Design Engineers and Molding Technicians to produce high-quality tooling.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of moldmaking experience, strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication and attention to detail, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. A High School Diploma is required; Journeyman Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years experience as a Moldmaker.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot high precision molds.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Journeyman Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surface grinding, form feature tolerances, and mold component inspection support mold quality.
• EDM work to shape cavities, design electrodes as needed.
• Operate vertical milling and lathe and support machinery.
• Inspect incoming steel and coordinate with QA before mold assembly or molding vendor shipment.
• Assemble new molds and review BOMs for accuracy and specs.
• Travel to molders as a support role under Toolmaker III guidance.
