Job summary

Samtec is seeking aMechanical Engineer Co-Op in Erie, PA to support and maintain new and legacy mold tooling. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings, analyze tooling data, and participate in cross-functional reviews to drive quality and improvements.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related roles.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and initiative.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
• Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of steel machining, mold design, and injection mold materials.
• Experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD for design and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create solid models and drawings for tooling and assemblies using 3D software.
• Analyze product and tooling data to identify required solutions.
• Recommend process or tooling changes to improve quality.
• Lead or participate in design reviews for products and tooling.
• Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and other teams to develop solutions.
• Adhere to corporate engineering standards and documentation practices.
• Plan and schedule tasks, and develop solutions using education and experience.
