Samtec, Inc. in Erie, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Plastics Engineer to support and maintain new and legacy mold tooling.

The role analyzes product and tooling data, recommends process and tooling changes to improve quality, and coordinates tooling projects with domestic and international suppliers. You will lead R&D trials on plastic molding machines, identify cost-saving solutions with suppliers, and participate in design reviews.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in plastics tooling or similar roles.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and problem solving.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of steel machining techniques, mold design, injection mold materials.
• Experience in engineering design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Willing to travel up to 10% locally between Samtec locations.

Responsabilités

• Supports and maintains new and legacy mold tooling.
• Analyzes data to identify tooling solutions and quality improvements.
• Coordinates tooling projects with suppliers domestically and internationally.
• Conducts or leads R&D trials on injection molding machines.
