Job summary

Cretex Medical in Minnesota is seeking a skilled Mold Maker to manage builds and repairs of tooling projects on 1st shift, Monday through Thursday with possible overtime on Fridays. You will investigate mold issues, perform repairs, and set up CNC equipment to produce high-precision components for medical devices.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of bench experience in tooling, are proficient with reading engineering prints, operating grinders, mills and lathes, and can contribute to tool

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience repairing molds.
• 4+ years minimum of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment.
• Understanding of quality procedures and standards.
• Ability to read, interpret engineering prints and blueprints.
• Skilled in using hand tools, surface grinders, mills, and lathes.
• Ability to grind or machine a variety of mold components.
• Proven problem-solving ability and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate/Identify mold issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Identify and recommend improvements for tool development and performance.
• Perform setup and operation of CNC equipment.
• Perform grinding of complex pins, cores, cavities and shutoffs.
• Prepare components for heat treatment.
• Perform shutoffs with minimal oversight.
• Support mentoring apprentices and less experienced team members.
• Read and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists accurately.
• Record time and repair details into the maintenance ticket system.
