Job summary

Cretex Medical is seeking a Mold Maker in Minnesota to manage builds and repairs of tooling projects on the 1st shift. You will identify mold issues, perform repairs, and set up CNC equipment to produce and finish tooling components.

You will read engineering drawings and work instructions, while mentoring apprentices and collaborating with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with grinders, mills, and lathes is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience repairing molds.
• 4+ years minimum of hands-on bench experience in a tooling environment.
• Understanding of quality procedures and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints.
• Skilled in using hand tools, surface grinders, mills, and lathes.
• Familiarity with Operational Excellence or Lean Manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Investigate/Identify mold issues and perform necessary repairs
• Identify and recommend improvements for tool development and performance
• Perform setup and operation of CNC equipment
• Perform grinding of complex pins, cores, cavities and shutoffs
• Prepare components for heat treatment
• Perform shutoffs with minimal oversight
• Support mentoring apprentices and less experienced team members
• Read and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and checklists accurately
• Record time and repair details into the maintenance ticket system.
