Job summary

MiTek is seeking a hardworking press operator in Tampa to operate stamping presses and related equipment for metal connector plates and steel components. You will handle manual and automated packaging, ensure safety and quality compliance, and complete production paperwork with accuracy.

The role demands punctuality, ability to meet daily goals, and collaboration with maintenance and quality teams. Prior manufacturing experience and basic geometry skills are a plus; the company offers robust

Qualifications

• High School/GED preferred; minimum acceptable education.
• Up to 1 year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Equivalent combo of experience and education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Ability to perform math including proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics; read a tape measure (1/32 inch).
• Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes.
• Meet and/or exceed daily production goals.
• Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors.
• Assist mechanics to keep press/packaging equipment operational.
• Feed slit ribbon material into stamping dies and perform first piece inspection.
• Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers.
• Minimize waste; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers.
• Monitor coolant and oil levels and adjust as needed.
• Conduct ongoing quality inspections and adhere to internal standards.
• Complete all quality and production paperwork for the shift.
• Attend and be punctual for scheduled shifts, with potential overtime.
