Job summary

Orchid is seeking an Operations Technician I at our Arab, Alabama site just outside Huntsville to support the production of precision medical components. You will perform belt polishing, buffing, die grinding, blasting, tumbling, inspection, and related tasks with strong emphasis on quality and safety.

We provide training and onboarding; successful candidates will contribute to lean manufacturing, 5S housekeeping, and adherence to QMS.

Responsibilities

• Belting/ polishing per engineering drawings and finishes
• Buffing using appropriate wheels, compounds and speeds
• Die grinding and finishing as required
• Blasting and media selection based on drawings
• Tumbling with correct media and water flow
• Complete paperwork and labor reporting accurately
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Report faulty equipment or material
• Transport product safely using hand trucks and tools
• Dimensionally inspect parts using calipers and gauges
• Follow Lean and 5S practices and QMS procedures
• Follow safety rules and work orders
• Support quality and compliance initiatives
