Job summary

Orchid MPS Holdings in Arab, Alabama near Huntsville is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate multi-axis machines producing precision medical components. You will run CNC mills and lathes, monitor programs, and ensure quality through measurements and documentation.

You will apply lean manufacturing principles, read blueprints, use calipers and height gauges, and collaborate with a safety-focused team to maintain compliant production and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.
• 1+ years operating machining equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience operating CNC mills or lathes independently required.
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, height gauge, and indicators required.
• Experience reading basic blueprints required.
• Machining Trade School preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Machinist, CNC reports directly to the area Supervisor.
• Performs basic machining functions to produce parts.
• Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
• Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
• Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
• Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.
• Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
• Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Completes all required training.
