Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Taunton, MA location. The role focuses on process improvement, new product introduction, and production optimization in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

The engineer will resolve production challenges and drive manufacturability, quality, and cost improvements. The position requires 8+ years in manufacturing engineering, strong documentation skills, and hands-on troubleshooting of electro-mechanical assemblies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in precision manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting new product introduction, process validation, and production-scale manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of engineering documentation, GD&T.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical/electromechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve manufacturing and production issues.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities for quality and manufacturing concerns.
• Create and maintain BOMs, work instructions, routing documentation, and engineering change documentation.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process controls to improve quality, reduce scrap and rework, and increase production efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, SPC, mistake-proofing methodologies, and other process improvement tools.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing operations.
• Support new product introduction activities, including prototyping, process development, risk assessments, validation activities, first article inspections, and production launches.
• Recommend design and process improvements to enhance manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Education

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
