Job summary

Actalent, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer in Norwood, MA to oversee technical and manufacturing aspects of NPI builds, ensuring schedules, costs, and quality. The role drives introduction, improvement, and sustainability of processes for hardware, PCBs, and components.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, with NPI and MRB/MRR experience, DFM focus, and strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical design. Onsite collaboration and Lean Six Sigma methods are key to success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or related field.
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience with NPI and manufacturing readiness reviews.
Strong knowledge of hardware, PCBs, and electronic components manufacturing.
Broad understanding of electronic/electro‑mechanical design and operation.
Ability to lead or participate in FMEA and risk mitigation processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs.
Use data to identify issues and drive corrective actions.
Lead root cause analysis and lean improvements.
Evaluate equipment, tools and materials for manufacturing processes.
Train production staff on new processes and equipment.
Support MRPs, MRRs and manufacturing readiness processes.
Apply Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
