Job summary

Chromalloy is hiring a Machinist for the 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm) to operate manual lathes and milling machines, produce and repair precision components, and interpret blueprints with accuracy. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with lathes, VTLs, grinding and milling, plus the ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Trade school or machining-specific training preferred.
Experience operating manual machines required.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain manual machines to fabricate/repair parts within tight tolerances.
Read blueprints and work orders to determine setups and procedures.
Apply GD&T to ensure product conformity.
Use micrometers, calipers, and pi tapes to inspect parts and ensure specifications.
Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines.
Adjust feeds, speeds, and tool offsets to maintain quality.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Operate overhead cranes to handle materials and parts.
Document inspections and production records.
Communicate priorities with the team and supervisors.
Commit to continuous improvement in efficiency and quality.
Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.
