Job summary

Chromalloy Corporation in Newnan, GA, is seeking a skilled Machinist (1st Shift) to operate manual lathes and milling machines, read blueprints, and inspect parts to tight tolerances. You will analyze drawings, set up fixtures, and apply GD&T while maintaining records and safety standards.

This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A trade school certificate or specialized machining education is preferred.
• Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is essential.
• GD&T knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components.
• Analyze blueprints and work orders to determine setups and machining sequences.
• Apply GD&T to ensure product conformity.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify specs.
• Align fixtures and tools; adjust feeds, speeds and offsets as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and operate overhead cranes safely.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and production documentation.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors to meet priorities and quality goals.
