Job summary

CRH's Oldcastle is seeking a machine operator to run designated equipment, following safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product. You'll read specs, adjust equipment, monitor quality, perform basic maintenance, and assist teammates to meet deadlines while keeping work areas clean.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic electronics/hydraulics knowledge, and strong reading/computation skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use computers.
• Leadership abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance ensuring quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean and orderly assigned area.
