Job summary

CRH’s Oldcastle division seeks a Production Operator to operate plant machinery, adhering to safety policies to deliver a high-quality product. The role emphasizes reading specs, setting guides, and monitoring operations for defects.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years of machine operation, and basic electronics/hydraulics knowledge; familiarity with MS Office is a plus. This is an on-site role supporting North American manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Minimum 3 years operating production machines.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Know the basics of hydraulics, electricity, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math in all units.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Sets stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Reviews product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearances assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Performs routine machine maintenance.
• Assists other operators to set up machines and other tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintains housekeeping in assigned areas.
