Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for on-site work in Welkom to maintain and calibrate plant instrumentation systems. You will service sensors, transmitters, valves, and related equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations in a critical energy environment.

The role requires 4+ years of hands-on experience, strong calibration and diagnostic skills, and a solid understanding of DCS/PLC control systems.

Qualifications

National Diploma or N3 Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician.
Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems (DCS/PLC), and calibration.
Experience with safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
Install, inspect, and repair instrumentation systems and control loops per specs and safety procedures.
Read P&IDs and electrical schematics for maintenance and repair.
Respond promptly to instrumentation issues to minimize production impact.
Maintain accurate records of calibrations and repairs.
Participate in safety programs and comply with health and safety regulations in Welkom.
