Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our client's operations in Welkom. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, conveyors, and control systems to minimize downtime.

The role requires mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical expertise, ability to read schematics, and strong diagnostic skills. You will maintain records and follow strict safety lockout/tagout procedures; welding and fabrication

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or in a similar hands-on maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and machine repair is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in complex industrial equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
