Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to maintain the mechanical integrity of production equipment in Welkom. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical failures, and keeping systems running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and reading blueprints, with a safety‑minded, proactive approach and a commitment to quality work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Commitment to safety procedures and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment (pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime.
• Install, calibrate, and test new equipment and machinery.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to guide repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records (parts used, equipment history).
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in safety training.
