Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Instrumentation Engineer to join our client's operations in Welkom. You will oversee selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance of instruments and sensors to ensure safe, reliable process control in an energy-focused setting.

The role requires a degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering with at least five years in industrial environments, familiarity with ATEX/SIL, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in an industrial or energy environment.
• Proven experience with process instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Knowledge of process control loops and diagnostic techniques.
• Familiarity with ATEX and SIL safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Select, install, calibrate, and maintain process instruments, including transmitters, sensors, valves, and analyzers.
• Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational integrity.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize instrument performance and reliability.
• Ensure instrumentation work complies with safety regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Maintain detailed records of instrument performance, calibration, and maintenance activities.
