Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, seeks a diligent Process Plant Operator to manage day-to-day plant operations and ensure safe, efficient production in the oil & gas and related processing industries.

You will monitor equipment, follow SOPs, respond to alarms, and maintain logs while upholding stringent safety standards. A high school diploma and relevant technical certification are advantageous, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification is advantageous.
Proven experience in a Process Plant Operator or similar role.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor process equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and control systems.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on plant machinery to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material handling, processing, and product transfer.
Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and process upsets.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of operational data, including production rates, temperatures, and pressures.
