Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist II for the 3rd shift. You will manufacture complex, high‑precision components used in flight‑critical systems, reading blueprints and applying stringent tolerances to parts for programs like F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.

You will perform self‑setups, dress grinding wheels, and inspect finished work, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to understand and apply English instructions and perform basic math.
• At least 1 year of Grind Machinist experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and written work instructions.
• Select grinding wheels, dress the wheel and machine per drawings.
• Hold tight tolerances typically .001 +/- .0005.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints, operation sheets and verbal instructions.
• Grind complex parts with tight tolerances on multiple grinders.
• Perform self‑setups, including chucking and alignment of irregular parts.
• Dress wheels for form and finish; select speeds and feeds.
• Inspect work, set up gauging, detect deviations, and read drawings.
• Participate in planning and problem solving within the Cell.
