Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• At least 3 years operating engine lathes, turret lathes, or vertical boring mills.
• Ability to read blueprints, route sheets, and written instructions.
• Skilled in shop mathematics and precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Check the route sheet, blueprint, and sketch for each operation and instructions.
• Measure rough material and divide stock to ensure complete clean-up.
• Turn the first side per the turning sketch, blueprint, and route sheet instructions, checking all dimensions before removing the part.
• On the second side, use soft jaws when applicable, skin-cutting to run true within .001" T.I.R.
• Add a proof spot to the back and O.D. when turning bevels, and check size before removing the part.
• Stamp parts and follow bar-coding procedures per company SOPs.
• Read and understand product drawings and written work instructions.
