Job summary

Brad Foote Gearing in Cicero, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with 3+ years in a machining environment to join its engineering team. BSME or similar degree, plus 3+ years of experience in a machining environment.
ISO9001 experience.
Ability to read technical drawings for precision gearing and components.
Ability to read and understand G-code and conversational programming for various machine tool controllers.

Responsibilities

Develop routings, work instructions, and engineering prints for CNC machining and CNC gear hobbing
Develop and improve processes for manufacturing gear-related products
Assist manufacturing supervisors with tooling, applications, and the selection of speeds and feeds for CNC machining, gear hobbing, and gashing
Troubleshoot machining operations and machine tool problems on the shop floor, assisting supervisors and maintenance with problem-solving and repair
Assist with the qualification and setup of first article inspection
Analyze costs, processes, planning, and functional controls to drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery
Work with tooth grinding and CMM/GMM operators to interpret and inspect gear micro‑geometries
Assist with plant layout of machine tools for product flow and efficiency
