Job summary

Brad Foote Gear Works is seeking a Manual Turning Machinist to join our team in Cicero, IL. This position will perform complex close tolerance turning, facing, boring, chamfering, recessing and form turning on a wide variety of production parts.

You will set up and operate engine lathes, turret lathes or vertical boring mills and provide your own basic tools. The successful candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience operating these machines, using

At least 3 years of experience operating the functions of turning machines.

Responsibilities

Check the Route Sheet, blueprint, and sketch for the operation and install part into machine.
Measure rough material and divide stock to ensure 100% clean up and check run out part in machine.
Turn the first side per blueprint and Route Sheet instructions and verify dimensions.
Follow bar-coding procedures; operate lathes or mills and true up external diameter to spec.
Deburr, stamp, inspect and package the parts produced in the cell.
Read and understand drawings and follow written work instructions.
