Precision Castparts Corp. Groton site is seeking an operator to perform rotofiling, grit blasting, and grinding of welded castings under supervision. The role requires basic shop math and 6 months of manufacturing experience, with attention to quality and adherence to procedures.

You will read and follow shop travelers, operate various grinding tools, and ensure tolerances while maintaining a safe work environment. A steady schedule and overtime opportunities are available.

Aufgaben

• Follow process control and quality procedures for finishing operations.
• Read and follow shop traveler instructions; operate grit blast and grinding tools.
• Select appropriate tools for exterior and interior surface finishing to remove defects.
• Perform dig out on castings per NDT instructions.
• Mount and use burr gun; determine material to remove during belt cleanup.
• Manipulate tools to remove unwanted metal.
• Prepare casting defect area for weld repair.
• Ensure surface finish and tolerances; avoid damage.
• Report defective parts or unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Meet daily throughput goals within training scope.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
