Job summary

Grede is seeking a grinder operator to operate band saws, grinders and related tools, performing essential finishing tasks on sand castings. You will report quantities for each work order and assist with loading the blast cleaning machine as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand, bend, twist, kneel, walk for 10+ hours.
• Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in an extremely hot environment.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Must be able to pass respirator fit test and comply with requirements when working in regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Operate band saw, abrasive saw, sand grinder, belt grinder and portable pneumatic grinding tools.
• Use hand tools including hammers, cold chisels and files.
• May load the blast cleaning machine.
• Report production quantities and items for each work order.
• Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned.
