Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) in Groton, CT, is seeking a full-time mid-fin metal finishing operator to sandblast and inspect castings. The role requires operating blast equipment, logging production data, and maintaining safety procedures.

Emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions. Responsibilities include adjusting equipment, handling various blasting methods, and ensuring paperwork matches parts.

Qualifications

• Requires the use of shop math plus decimals, fractions, formulas, specifications charts, tables, and adjustable measuring instruments requiring interpretation.
• 6 months of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts equipment to obtain optimum running condition.
• Inspects own parts for surface distortion and imperfections such as flow lines, cracks, breaks, sinks, excess flash, non-fill and porous condition.
• Loads blast material of proper size and type in all machines.
• Maintains equipment in a safe manner.
• Demonstrate ability to log on main computer system, extract information, log time, enter inventory amount and forward to next operation.
• Must be able to clean all types of castings using sandblast, shot blast or chemical methods.
• Adjust nozzles and pressure properly.
• Turn dust collector on and off.
• Meets all production and quality standards.
• All other duties assigned.
