Job summary

Precision Castparts in Connecticut is seeking a finishing operator to perform rotofiling, grit blasting, and hand and bench grinding to remove casting defects and finish welded castings. You will follow shop travelers, operate grinding tools, select appropriate tools, and help prepare weld repair cavities while adhering to safety practices.

This full-time role requires basic math, ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and 6 months of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Requires judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions within standard procedures.
• Requires eye-hand visual and manual dexterity to operate manual grinding tools.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to wear PPE for finishing and grinding.
• Six months of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow process control and quality procedures for finishing operations.
• Operate grit blast equipment and grinding tools (hand and bench).
• Select appropriate tools to remove visual defects and finish surfaces.
• Prepare casting defect areas for weld repair.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and report defects or anomalies.
• Comply with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
