Job summary

Qualifications

• Grinding skills and ability to read and follow blueprints.
• Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Basic ability to read and interpret technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Review x-ray/inspection paperwork and blueprints to determine grinding requirements.
• Remove surface and subsurface defects from castings with rotary files, burrs, abrasives or belts.
• Blend repaired areas to specified tolerances and may use a handheld sandblaster.
• Verify dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Perform fluorescent penetrant inspections to verify defect removal; log results.
• Provide work direction to junior grinders as assigned.
