Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of gauges and measurement tools and mathematical applications.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure for conformance with specifications.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses).
• Position, align, fit and weld parts to form units or subassemblies following blueprints and layouts.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and tack-weld as needed.
• Follow safety protocols, keep the work area clean, and study engineering drawings to determine materials and sequences.
