Job summary

Motion Industries is seeking a skilled Fabricator for the second shift to fabricate, repair, and adapt dies and tooling with high precision. You will read blueprints, set up machines, and assemble components while adhering to safety standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and basic math skills. Responsibilities include inspecting parts, measuring with calipers, and welding or assembling subunits per drawings.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of monitoring gauges, dials or indicators to ensure machinery runs correctly.
• Ability to read and understand work orders.
• Basic mathematics knowledge and its application.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly using precision tools.
• Inspect parts for defects and verify conformance with specifications.
• Measure using rulers, calipers, and templates to ensure accuracy.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drills).
• Weld components as needed following blueprints and layout specifications.
• Tack-weld parts and assemble complete units or subassemblies.
• Operate safety equipment and maintain safe work habits.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Study engineering drawings to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
