Altec Industries, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator to set up and operate metal‑forming equipment. You will read blueprints, select dies, monitor performance, and ensure parts meet quality standards while maintaining efficient production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer literacy, and ability to read instructions; experience with measuring tools and blueprints is preferred. This is a full‑time position based in Birmingham.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational or technical training may substitute for experience.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend work instructions.
• Basic computer literacy is required.
• Drug screen and physical are required for employment.
• Experience reading blueprints/schematics and using measuring equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems or manufacturing processes is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate metal‑forming equipment to produce components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specs, and shop orders for setup and sequence.
• Select and secure dies, fixtures and other components using measurement tools.
• Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed for multiple passes.
• Inspect finished work using gauges and calipers to meet quality standards.
• Lift and position workpieces in machine fixtures.
• Control feeds, speeds, tool depth, and bending parameters.
• Produce work within established routed times to support department efficiency.
