Gables Engineering, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist I to set up and operate CNC centers, producing precision parts from raw materials. You will use drawings and inspection tools to ensure parts meet specifications, working under supervision in a shop environment.

The role involves basic machine setups, loading tooling, running programs, and verifying first-article parts while maintaining quality and safety on the shop floor.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of machining or CNC training program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of CNC machine operation experience.
• Experience in a high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment preferred.

Mansioni

• Set up CNC machines with programs, tooling, fixtures, and offsets.
• Operate mills, lathes, or CNC equipment per specs.
• Load/unload raw materials and finished parts.
• Verify setup with first-article parts and adjust as needed.
• Monitor operations and perform basic process corrections.
• Read blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges for quality.
• Report quality issues, tooling wear, or machine faults.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Complete production/inspection/setup docs accurately.
• Maintain a safe, organized shop area per OSHA.
