Gables Engineering, Inc. in Coral Gables, FL, seeks a friendly CNC Machinist I to set up and operate CNC centers, producing milled parts from raw materials.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, verify first-article parts, and document production and inspection activities in a collaborative shop environment.

No relocation, strong attention to detail and safety are required; prior training or 2+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a machining or CNC training program, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines.
• Experience in a high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform basic CNC machine setups, including loading programs, installing tooling, setting up and verifying fixtures, and setting tool offsets.
• Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or other CNC equipment) to produce parts to specification.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
• Verify setup accuracy by running first-article parts and making necessary adjustments.
• Monitor machine operations and make basic process corrections as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Identify and report quality issues, tooling wear, or machine malfunctions.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, including cleaning and routine checks.
• Accurately complete production, inspection, and setup documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
