Job summary

Gables Engineering, Inc. in Coral Gables, FL, is seeking a CNC Machinist I to set up and operate CNC centers, producing precision parts from raw material. You will interpret blueprints, use GD&T, verify fixtures, and document processes on the shop floor.

The role requires basic English, a machinist training program or hands-on CNC experience, and at least 2 years in a high-mix/low-volume environment. You will work under supervision in a busy, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of machining or CNC training program or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machines.
• Experience in a high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, load programs, install tooling, fixture setup, and tool offsets verification.
• Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other equipment to produce parts to specification.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
• Verify setup accuracy by running first articles and making adjustments as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges to ensure quality.
