Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist to program, set up, and operate multi-axis milling centers and conventional tooling. You will develop work packages, coordinate with engineers on drawings and fabrication issues, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced fabrication shop.

The role requires hands-on machining, minor CAM programming, and the ability to handle both scheduled and walk-in work. Responsibilities include programming with Unigraphics/PowerMill/MasterCam, setting up 3–5 axis

Qualifications

• Hands-on machining experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Minor CAM programming experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Program three-, four-, and five-axis machine tools using Unigraphics, PowerMill, and MasterCam; perform minor programming.
• Set up and operate CNC milling centers across 3-, 4-, 5-axes to produce precision components.
• Operate conventional machines (lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, band saws).
• Select tooling, fixtures, and determine speeds/feeds for materials.
• Establish five-axis move references and ensure proper clearances.
• Order materials and tooling; ensure certifications.
• Develop flight work packages and support documentation.
• Estimate time/materials for scheduling and planning.
• Assist walk-in requests and adapt to changing priorities.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve drawings/revisions and due dates.
• Follow safety policies and regulations; maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Communicate clearly and document work; stay current with new fabrication technologies.
