Job summary

PeoplePilot is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support aerospace machining operations, including multi-axis milling and turning, using numerically controlled machines.

The role requires hands-on NC programming, CAM software experience, and the ability to optimize programs for quality and efficiency. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure dimensional accuracy and safe, productive production.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC programming, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
• Experience with multi-axis milling (3-, 4-, 5-axis) and CNC turning.
• Familiarity with CAM software such as TopSolid, Edgecam, CATIA, PartMaker, NCSIMUL, or APT; other tools like Mastercam, NX CAM, ESPRIT, GibbsCAM, Vericut acceptable.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, speeds and feeds.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances.
• Understanding of machine shop operations, setups, workholding, and processes.
• Two years NC Programmer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain CNC/NC programs for multi-axis milling and turning operations.
• Perform manual NC programming and edit existing programs to meet machining requirements.
• Support machining of aerospace components, parts, and tooling.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, tooling parameters, speeds, feeds, and sequences.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct program prove-outs, troubleshoot issues, and prevent programming errors or collisions.
• Optimize CNC programs to improve cycle time, throughput, quality, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, operations, other programmers, and vendors.
• Analyze production problems, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Apply continuous improvement methods to reduce costs and increase productivity.
