Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Chicopee, MA is seeking a CNC Cutter/Grinder to regrind, recondition and manufacture cutting tools per blueprints and specifications. The role focuses on precision, setup, and safe operation of CNC equipment in a fast-paced shop.

You will read drawings, monitor tool accuracy, adjust programs, inspect finished work with precision instruments, and maintain orderly workstations while supporting MSC’s quality and productivity goals.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate with basic math skills.
• Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to read and follow work order instructions.
• Ability to train others.
• Ability to use test and measuring equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations as well as set up and operate various machine tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence, and setup requirements.
• Starts and observes machine operation, detects malfunctions, and adjusts CNC program or setup as required.
• Navigates CNC software and adjusts programs to grind tools within print specs.
• Verifies conformance of finished work using precision measurement instruments.
• Returns tooling to proper location after completion and maintains safe work area.
