Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence, and setup requirements.
• Starts and observes machine operation, detects malfunctions, and adjusts CNC program or setup as required.
• Navigates CNC software and adjusts programs to grind tools within print specs.
• Verifies conformance of finished work using precision measurement instruments.
• Returns tooling to proper location after completion and maintains safe work area.

Brief Position Summary

The role of CNC Cutter/Grinder is to regrind, recondition and/or manufacture cutting tools per instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Displays or possesses the ability to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts CNC program or machine set‑up as required.
• Ability to navigate CNC software and adjust the programs as needed, to grind tools within print specifications.
• Verifies/inspects conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measurement instrumentation.
• Returns tooling to proper location upon completion of work.
• Sets up machine and ensures proper safety guarding is in place before starting work instructions.
• Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Compensation

Compensation starting at $21.57/hr – $29.85/hr depending on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
