Precision Castparts operates in a chemical etching and penetrant inspection environment. The role involves preparing and maintaining etch lines, submerging parts in alkaline and/or acid baths, and applying fluorescent penetrant to castings prior to inspection.

You will also perform routine documentation, housekeeping, and safety duties to ensure process integrity. Strong reading, math, and safety awareness are essential, along with physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in challenging

Competenze

High school graduation or GED required for NDT certification.
Three to six months experience as Cold Etch Operator B or related chemical etching experience.
Ability to read, write, interpret and follow instructions and Tech Cards.
Ability to perform a variety of arithmetic calculations.
Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 30–50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Ability to work in difficult conditions with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements.

Mansioni

Etch Line Preparation: test chemical baths, make corrections and assure conformance to process control specifications.
Chemical Cleaning and Rinsing: submerge parts in chemical tanks and rinse; load/unload ovens.
Penetrant Line Operation: apply penetrant liquid and develop castings for inspection.
Process Documentation: complete logs for bath chemistry, etch rates and additions.
Maintenance and Housekeeping: perform minor repairs and keep area clean and orderly.
Safety: follow safety rules and wear PPE and report hazards.
