Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED (necessary for NDT certification).
• Ability to write, and read and follow specifications on Tech Cards.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 20–40 pounds and up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to work in conditions with noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects castings for surface dirt and cleanliness.
• Cleans and degreases castings as necessary.
• Etches castings chemically and neutralizes with water; dries components.
• Applies fluorescent penetrant liquid using a hand-held sprayer and allows penetrant to be absorbed.
• Washes, pre-dries, and dries castings; develops with powder developer.
• Maintains safety practices and operates equipment.
• Completes logs and performs other tasks as directed.
