Job summary

PCC Structurals is seeking a Penetrant Line Operator to prepare castings for fluorescent penetrant inspection. You will handle cleaning, etching, penetrant application, washing, drying, and development of castings with strict adherence to safety rules and quality specifications.

Training is provided on the job, including Level 1 Penetrant Inspection Courses and Certification. Located at the Large Parts Campus in the Portland area, the role requires physical work in an industrial environment and

Qualifications

High School Graduation or GED is necessary for NDT certification.
Ability to read and follow specifications on Tech Cards.
Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing twenty to forty pounds and occasionally up to eighty pounds.
Ability to work in difficult working conditions including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

Visually inspects castings for surface dirt and degreases as necessary.
Chemically etches castings via local or swab etching; washes and dries parts.
Operates penetrant line and applies fluorescent penetrant liquid; allows penetrant to be absorbed.
Washes penetrant and pre-dries castings; places in drying cabinets and develops with powdered developer.
Maintains clean work area and wears protective gear.
Follows safety rules and completes logs and records.
