Job summary

RTX is hiring for a production technician on the Asheville, NC production floor. The role involves operating a variety of machines and performing routine line operations with strict quality checks.

Responsibilities include reading process sheets, maintaining run charts, TPM duties, 5S housekeeping, and regular documentation. Candidate must have manufacturing experience and U.S. citizenship; an Associate degree or advanced certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Previous manufacturing experience required.
• Associate degree or Advanced Manufacturing Certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machines including washers, shot peening (GASP), furnaces, water & air flow units, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x-ray, bake, and detailers.
• Perform routine operations on the production line, producing blades and/or vanes while executing all quality checks.
• Read and interpret process sheets and gauges, deburr and clean parts, make minor offset changes, and change setups as required.
• Document information on check sheets, maintain dimensional data on run charts, and frequently use measuring devices to assess product acceptance based on blueprint specifications.
• Run all equipment in the work loop and produce product according to standard work procedures.
• Clock labor in Solumina, perform daily TPM and document results.
• Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
• Move around the machine line (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and transporting product or equipment up to 10 pounds.
• Carry out additional tasks within the scope and skill level of this position as needed to support department objectives.
