Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for the Weekend Day Shift. You will operate a range of production machines, read process sheets, perform quality checks, and document run data on the line. The role includes TPM, 5S housekeeping, and moving parts up to 10 pounds.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and U.S. citizenship. Prior manufacturing experience or an advanced manufacturing certification is preferred, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizenship required (access restricted to U.S. citizens).
• Previous manufacturing experience or education, or an advanced manufacturing certification preferred.
• Ability to work shift hours and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of production machines (washer, shot peen, furnace, laser weld, etc.).
• Produce blades and/or vanes while performing quality checks on the line.
• Read and interpret process sheets, gauge specifications, and blueprints.
• Deburr, clean parts, make minor offset changes, change set-ups, and document information on check sheets.
• Record dimensional data on run charts and use measuring devices to assess product acceptance.
• Clock labor and perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) with documentation.
• Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness following 5S principles.
• Move about the machine line, handling items up to 10 pounds, and perform tasks within scope.
